I-Am-Riversong

A pretty display is all you can see. It's a picture with no identity. For all you know she's a girl with a smile, plus a place to call home. Now, how can one tell the shame in ones eyes, when it's covered by some garnished disguise? To fool the world, all that it takes, is an elegant mask and a grin on your face. But a lie is a lie, that's all it will be to the girl living behind her own dream. Her tear marked cheeks smothered in gold as she holds her head high so no one may know. And as she hides the scars that were cut by a blade, she realized this: This is living behind the Masquerade.

I was abandoned once, I was fooled twice. You showed me what love was, then you struck me with a knife. You put me through hell, left me to die. Told me everything would be okay, then kissed me goodbye. No one knew me, no one knew my pain. You left without a trace, so I had no one to blame You took me as an idiot, you took me for some fool. The worst part is, I saw that in me too. "It's in the past." as people always say. what happened, happened I should be fine today! But now you're gone, and I haven't been the same. Truth is, I lied. I will never be okay.  

Hidden away where no one can see. Trapped in the box of self pity. The box is decorated with happiness, confidence, and strength, but on the inside it's filled with sorrow, pain, and weakness. Living in a world without a home. Loving a world that won't love back. Pretending their arrows don't hurt, and walking, crawling, with a smile that says "everything is ok". Fooling the world, when you can't fool yourself. And when everyone is gone,   when no one can see, the box opens up revealing the truth. Revealing all the sorrow, and pain, and weakness.   Taking all their hatred out on yourself, because that's the only thing you know how to

Don't Say 'I Love You'        Every child was born with a heart. Some wish they hadn't. Caralipo was born with a heart that could love the world yet, knew it couldn't.
